Cleaning upholstery can be a difficult task especially when you have to do it all alone. You usually don’t clean your upholstery until it becomes necessary for a holiday or festive cleaning. We’re certain that cleaning upholstery becomes even more difficult with a pile of dust and dirt. Not every cleaning product is for all upholstery type, and you can’t wash them all with water. So what is the solution to a maximum number of the upholstery cleaning problems?

1. Remove Carpet Stains
There are two alternatives that you can try to remove tough stains from your carpet. We have no clue for which one is the best, you can try the trial and error method.
- First Method: With An Iron
You’ll need an iron, vinegar, water, and a spray bottle. For this, add water and vinegar in 2:1 ratio in the spray bottle and spray it on the stain. To create a secure layer between the carpet and the iron, lay a damp rag over the stain. Finally, iron the rag for about half a minute and 1 minute for stubborn stains. When done pull up the rag and the stain must have been gone. If not satisfied, try this for a few more times, and you must get the desired results.
- Second Method: With Hydrogen Peroxide
Get a bottle of hydrogen peroxide, water, lemon essential oil, and scrub brush. You only need the bottle to contain 1/3 of hydrogen peroxide solution. Always to use a dark colored bottle or container as light colored ones can break and neutralize the solution. Fill the rest of the bottle with water and add 5-6 drops of lemon essential oil. Once done, spray the stain with this solution and use a scrub brush to tease the fibers. You’ll notice the stains to come out, rub the area with a rag to eliminate the presence or any liquid.
2. Clean Microfiber Couch
Get rid of stains and marks on your microfiber couch with just a bottle of rubbing alcohol. Spray some amount of rubbing alcohol onto the affected area and rub it hard with using a sponge. Be sure to use a white sponge to avoid any accidental color transfer scenario.
3. Clean Car Seats
If you have kids, you probably know the pain of dirty car seats. Even if not kids, adults can also accidentally make the car seats dirty. Just prepare a solution with rubbing alcohol, vinegar, and essential oils to clean the seats as new. Equal parts of rubbing alcohol and vinegar and 4 drops of essential oil would do. Spray the cleaner solution onto the spot and leave it for 2 minutes. Scrub vigorously with a sponge and the stains will vanish!
4. Pet Hair Off Of Upholstery
Get a lot of embedded hair of your pets out of upholstery by using just a squeegee and a spray bottle full of water. You might be clear about the steps, spray some water on the seat and rub with a squeegee to finish the work.
5. Get Rid Of Bad Odors
Bad odors can be upsetting especially when it comes from your couch, bed or any other upholstery. Just sprinkle some baking soda onto the area and leave it for 20 minutes, then vacuum it.
